AMANDA PHILLIPS GRENARD GLAZE

Mrs. Amanda Jane Glaze, relict of James Glaze, died Tuesday afternoon at half past 4 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Simeon Grenard north of Waynetown after a brief illness. At noon she was feeling as well as usual and ate a hearty dinner. Mrs. Grenard had a fall a few years ago and thereby broke her hip and she never fully recovered from the shock. Mrs. Glaze was 86 years 3 months 25 days of age. She was born in Kentucly Sept 10, 1823 and came to this county when 14 years of age. She has lived here ever since. She was twice married. Her first husband was William Grenard. To their union 7 children were born three of whom are still living: John Grenard, living two miles southeast of Waynetown; James Grenard of Benton County, Indiana and Simeon Grenard who lives at the old homeplace. Her second husband, James Glaze died a number of years ago. Of the three children born to this union only one Ira Glaze survives. He lives in Luray, Kansas. Mrs. Grenard was a devout member of the United Brethren Church. Funeral services occurred Thursday monring at 10 o'clock at Snyder's chapel conducted by Rev. Abe Snyder. Burial occurred at Masonic Cemetery near Waynetown. - kbz
